Drawing the Human Figure – with Brigitte Huard. Drawing the human figure is both rewarding and very challenging. If your drawn limbs look like noodles, you tend to hide the hands and feet, can't get the eyes straight, or ignore the head and face entirely, this course will aim to help you with proportion, structure, and anatomy so that this stops happening (we hope!). Different methods will be used to give the student a variety of ways to resolve their difficulties as well as enhance their skills and understanding. The lectures will be illustrated by archival photographs and examples of Carr's work in various collections across the country. It will be followed by discussions on Carr's paintings currently on view at the McMichael. Run previously as Afternoon Tea with Emily Carr, this program returns as a series of three lectures for our weekend audience.
