BBG brings Eastern Europe to its new home. Its founders worked and traveled extensively in the former Soviet and Yugoslav Republics celebrating its art and people. Household names there are soon-to-be household names in Canada through a series of breathtaking exhibitions tapping into a wealth of recognized European talent.

A Muse... Rubens Korubin, Dimce Isailovski and Dubravko Naumov.
Korubin is a preeminent master and teacher, having influenced generations of Macedonian artists. Isailovsky assembles pieces to resurrect a past muse through a number of collages; Dubravko releases his muse while Rubens' “Muse” presents a woman caught in the depths of her environment stimulating onlookers to be entranced, caught in stillness, air and complexity.

{Disabilities} Enabling Abilities – showcases 51 art pieces (1973-2005) capturing Chagall-like stories, Modigliani-like femailes, and van Gogh-like skies by the late Miron Semec (1959-2005). The closing reception will include a silent auction and a documentary.

Exhibition of works by highly acclaimed Ukrainian contemporary artists – Petro Bevza, Matviy Vaisberg, Petro Lebedynets, Olexiy Lytvynenko and Oleg Yasenev.

Beside Myself – by Ted Bieler. An installation of five deconstructed sculptures of the human head cast in aluminium, each positioned on a bench, that invites contemplation between the act of mirroring and recognizing our own multiple profiles. Sculpture will be installed over time, with some heads on view May 17th and the remainder installed at intervals until opening day.
