Main Gallery, Peter A. Barelkowski: Come Play With Us. An Invitation to Our Horrors. "We do have a tendency to forget. History teaches nothing. Oblivious to its lessons, we are moving through the same nightmares again and again: year by year, century by century, millennium by millennium. Conveniently, we pretend that the horrors surrounding us are only a momentary aberration. As if they always happen to others and in the end, we will surely be alright. There is no hope as long as we keep forgetting how easily we entered into violence: became cruel, intolerant and self-righteous. Killing lies deep within our nature and we should never forget about it." – Peter A. Barelkowski. North Gallery, Anne-Marie Cosgrove. This retrospective exhibition highlights the artist's personal and social engagement with painting for over two decades.

Peter Smith: You May Find Yourself. Curated by Ann MacDonald. Peter Smith thoughtfully receives the overabundance of information swirling around us in our modern world. He grapples with and translates the inherent complications and idiosyncrasies of life, representing the macrocosm in prints and assemblages that are comprised of the detritus of our days – scrap wood, dollar store surplus, stickers, plastic globes, and building blocks. His works unite throwaway culture with aspirations for comprehension and transcendence. Organized by the Doris McCarthy Gallery in partnership with the Robert McLaughlin Gallery.
